Reflective Writing Assignment Walkthrough
STEP 1
Consider educational environment
Think about class size and where your students are at in their experience with writing. Are they comfortable writing? Will class size affect their writing environment? Also consider if you are planning an assignment for a class, internship. or study abroad. Use the “For Students” page to get your student on board!

STEP 2
Determine learning objectives
Think about what you want your students to get out of the assignment. Is there a learning area that students tend to struggle with? Where in the curriculum will they most benefit from a reflective writing assignment?
STEP 3
Select the assignment type and delivery method
After considering educational environment and learning objectives, determine how you want your students to complete the assignment. Will they write an essay, a digital dialogue, participate in a class discussion, etc? Next, decide when they will complete it. Will it be during class time, as part of a project, at the end of a test, etc?
